Electromyography Test Preparation

  • No, fasting is not required before the test.
  • You will refrain from smoking or consuming products containing caffeine such as coffee, tea, cola etc. two to three hours before testing.
  • Before the test, Inform the technician about all medications you are taking.
  • Before the test, inform the technician if you have a pacemaker.
  • Bring your medical history on the day of the test.
  • Change into a patient gown.
  • Remove the metal objects such as jewellery, watches, eyewear, dentures, hair pins etc. before the procedure.
  • Bathe or shower before the test to remove excess oil from the skin.
  • Avoid using body lotions, creams or oils for a few days before your test.
